What’s the Role: Relief Support Worker

A full driver’s license (for a manual car) is a requirement for this role

What It Takes:

An important part of the staff role is to support our service users who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions.

So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.

Our dedicated staff team support our service users to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our service users with day to day life.

Where You Would Work: Greenville Residential, Co Cork

Greenville Residential is a mixed residential service, providing care and support for up to 14 adult service users with a primary diagnosis of Autism. The service is made up of the main house which can support up to 5 service users each SU has their own bedroom and ensuite bathroom, they have access to kitchens and sitting rooms and living spaces. Attached to the main house is a cottage which can accommodate one service user, this cottage has a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen living area.  

On the grounds of Greenville there are a further 6 cottages, which accommodates 8 service users. 2 cottages accommodate 2 service users in each cottage and 4 cottages are single occupancy. Each cottage has its own kitchen and living area and each service user have their own bedroom and bathroom.  

Staff work in teams that are based in the individual locations. Each location has roster that suits the needs of the service users they support.

Salary Details:

Relief Support Worker

€14.40 per hour*

When the role requires sleep-in duties a minimum additional payment of €101.60 per night applies.
