The Pedagogical Section at the Goetheanum in Dornach (Switzerland) is one of the 11 specialised sections of the School of Spiritual Science and has an independent relationship with all educational institutions that work on an anthroposophical basis. It sees its task in the work and development of the Steiner educational impulse on the basis of the realisation of the developing human being. In this way it creates a basis for education in general.

Our task is to research and develop anthroposophically inspired education and to give it new impetus. It is very important to us to support our colleagues in their daily work. Our work is carried out in constant dialogue with Waldorf schools and their committees throughout the world.

Together with the General Anthroposophical Section, we are looking for a staff member from 1 May 2024 or by arrangement for

Research and study for Waldorf education and anthroposophy (80%)

(Research and Learning Associate)

They will work in the Pedagogical Section on a current research project on resilience in education and create a public platform for academic perspectives on Waldorf education. This will be done after thorough research around the world and especially taking into account the growing school movement in South America.

You will be a member of the coordination team in the Department of Studies and Further Education.

Your main tasks:

    • Carrying out research work

    • Development of a global platform

    • Promoting a culture of continuous learning at the Goetheanum

    • Support for research initiatives

Your profile:

    • Knowledge of written and spoken Spanish, Portuguese and English

    • Experience in social research

    • Preferably a Master's degree connected to Anthroposophy (also possible to be in the doctoral process / PhD)

    • Very good communication skills in international relations as well as with partners and participants in the Goetheanum's research and study projects

    • Knowledge of Anthroposophy

    • Experience in building networks and international network communication

    • Experience in working with the anthroposophical movement / Waldorf school movement / support, conception and development of study programs

You are an outgoing person and enjoy working independently and proactively. With an interest in research and pedagogy, you enjoy liaising with people working in education at an international level to identify ongoing projects, international conferences and relevant literature. Openness, a proactive approach to work and team spirit are the perfect attributes for this position. You are enthusiastic about promoting the courses offered at the Goetheanum and enjoy being a support and contact person within the study programmes.

In this position you will support and be co-responsible for the development and implementation of learning programmes and materials.
