Too many children die because of lack of access to diabetes care. If you are the person who can do something about it, come join the Global Access to Care team.

We are eagerly looking to bring in an experienced programme manager who can help us expand our Changing Diabetes in Children Programme to a number of new countries.

 

About the department

We are part of the Global Public Affairs and Sustainability Department and are a team of passionate individuals who work in different ways with our global organisation and external partners to improve access to care for millions of people with diabetes.

 

The position

The experienced programme manager will work to expand the Changing Diabetes in Children programme (CDIC) in a number of countries. CDIC is a Novo Nordisk flagship programme which aims at providing sustainable type 1 diabetes care in low-resource settings. It provides access to life-saving insulin and builds lasting capacity to treat type 1 diabetes. It is currently implemented with global and local partners in 14 countries reaching so far more than 25,000 children.

 

The primary function of this role is to:

 

  • Develop and monitor progress in programme countries: Working to ensure sustainability and monitoring progress of projects in existing countries. Develop projects and partnerships in new countries. 
  • Drive global partnership strategy: Engage more partners in the programme and drive partnerships with existing global partners (ISPAD, ROCHE and WDF).
  • Lead global and regional advocacy platforms: Engage external stakeholders in project countries (government representatives and patient organisations). Develop patient advocacy for type 1 diabetes in low-resource settings, plan and carry out stakeholder roundtables, symposiums, side-events and congress presence.

 

You will be located in Bagsværd, Denmark and travelling to Africa, Asia and/or South America will be part of your job.

 

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Many years of relevant experience from industry, a global development organisation, or donor agency or ministry of foreign affairs managing complex global health and/or development programmes with cross-sectoral partnerships.
  • Demonstrated expertise in global health and successful experience in driving advocacy and public policy.
  • Proven organisational and personal skills and ability to drive multi-stakeholder engagement and collaborate across cultures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent spoken and written English. Ability to speak French and Spanish is an advantage.
